Psychologist, Speech Therapist

I am a Psychologist, Speech Therapist and a Special Education Language Teacher. With a major in Psychology from the Faculty of Philosophy, Pedagogy and Psychology of the Athens School of Philosophy, I received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the undergraduate program in Psychology. I went on to be awarded with an MSc in Special Education – Speech Therapy and Consulting. Since 2013, I have been working on my PhD at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki on speech and memory skills in children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and children with Specific Language Impairment. Furthermore, being an advocate of life-long learning myself, I have attended the annual training seminar on special education and education for people with disabilities or special educational needs run by the Department of Developmental Pediatrics of the B’ Pediatric Clinic of the University of Athens, and I have been specialized in Applied Behavior Analysis.

I have worked in schools and special education institutions both in the private and the public sector, at a diagnostic and therapeutic level with pre-school and school children and teenagers addressing a wide range of difficulties: autistic spectrum disorder, specific language impairment, learning difficulties, hyperactivity. Within the context of my research activities, I participate in conferences in Greece and beyond. My scientific interests focus on children’s speech and memory skills as well as on the autistic spectrum disorder.
A holistic approach, an inter-disciplinary team, respect for the capabilities of every single child, cooperation and meaningful communication among specialists as well as between specialists and parents are to me the foundations upon which the child’s improvement and development are built.
